Section 1 - General League Info
1.1 League Settings
Sports Society is a 12 team Fantasy Football League currently played on ESPN.
This League utilizes the PPR scoring format in a H2H format where each Team is matched against another Team each week.
Rules as outlined will apply for the entirety of the season. Proposed League Rule changes will be debated and voted upon during the off-season and this document can be amended at that time.
1.2 Scoring Settings
Default PPR scoring rules will apply with no additional adjustments.
1.3 Roster Settings
Each Team will have the following roster spots allotted.

Each Team will also have 6 Bench spots and 1 IR designated spot.
1.4 Schedule
There will be 14 weeks of Regular season play. Each Team will face one Opponent Team each week. The Schedule will be made by the commissioner before the season starts.
You will play each of your divisional opponents twice a year.
The Schedule will not otherwise be altered in any way.
1.5 Divisions
There will be 3 divisions with 4 teams in each one.
These divisions will be made randomly before the season starts and will not be altered.
Section 2 - League Dues & Prizes
2.1 League Dues
Yearly league dues (entry fee) is $20 if you are a solo and $30 if you are co-owning.. League dues must be paid prior to the completion of the draft.
2.2 League Prizes
League Prizes are distributed for in-season accomplishments and end of season accommplishments as follows:
1st Place Overall - $160
2nd Place Overall - $65
3rd Place Overall - $30
Survivor Winner - $20 (Regular Season Only)
Survivor is a regular season elimination tournament, where the team that scores the lowest amount each week is eliminated until there is one team that stands.
Section 3 - Draft
3.1 Draft Date & Location
The Draft takes place online on ESPN.
It will be held on Sunday, August 24th. at 7:00PM EST.
3.2 Draft Style
The Draft is a snake style draft with 1 minute allotted per pick selection.
3.3 Draft Order
Draft Order is determined randomly before the season starts.
You will not be able to swap draft picks with anyone else.
Section 4 - Transactions
4.1 Waivers
A FAAB system is utilized for waiver wire transactions. Each Team begins the season with a budget of $150. Blind waiver bids must be placed by midnight Tuesday for the corresponding week.
4.2 Trades
The Trade Deadline is set by ESPN. See the League Schedule for more details.
Trades should be made with an effort by both parties to improve their respective teams. All trades are subject to reversal by the Commissioner in order to maintain the integrity of the League.
Section 5 - Playoffs
5.1 Overview
At the conclusion of the 14 regular season weeks, 6 teams will advance to the Playoffs.
Playoff seeding is determined by best H2H record. Total points scored is utilized as the tiebreaker.
The 1st and 2nd seeded Teams will have a Round 1 bye in Week 15.
The Championship matchup will be played in Week 17.
Section 6 - Competitiveness
6.1 Overview
Sports Society takes the competitive nature and integrity of the League seriously. No anti-competitive behavior will be tolerated and violators are subject to removal from the League with the forfeit of any prizes due.
6.2 Tanking
No 'tanking' or the intentional losing or manipulation of the outcome of matchups.
Tanking occurs when a member intentionally loses or ties a game, by dropping or sitting players to alter playoff matchups and/or the competitive balance of the league.
6.3 Player Dumping
Teams are prohibited from dumping valued players and/or large chunks of their roster into the player pool for any reason, including after giving up on a disappointing season.
Ex. Dropping entire roster; dropping high-value players after elimination; etc.
6.4A General Collusion
All Teams should act in a manner that upholds the integrity of the League. No intentional manipulation that would affect other Teams' ability to perform is tolerated.
Violators are subject to removal from the League with the forfeit of any prizes due.
6.4B General Collusion
Collusion occurs when members work together against the rest of the league or another member, or one team makes moves to benefit another team without trying to improve their own position. Collusion undermines the ethic of good sportsmanship as well as the competitive balance of the league.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
One-sided trades
Dropping a player so that another team may pick up that player
Transactions that involve future considerations or preferential treatment
Swapping players with other members to cover bye weeks or injury (aka "rentals")
SECTION 7 - LEAGUE OFFICE
7.1 Platform
The league operates on the ESPN (2022 - present) platform. The rules delineated in this document shall correspond with the league settings established in ESPN. Should any discrepancies arise during the season, the ESPN settings shall take precedence. Any inconsistencies noted during the offseason shall be aligned with ESPN settings.
7.2 Commissioner
Green (2022 - Present), referred to as "The Commissioner" has accepted the responsibility and privilege of serving the league members and to oversee and administer League activities.
The Commissioner is responsible for enforcing all bylaws and league rules, reactivating the league on ESPN, and sending annual invitations. The Commissioner also oversees daily administration, including but not limited to:
Implementing ESPN rules.
Resolving disputes and clarifying ambiguous rules.
Announcing significant league dates, such as trade deadlines and draft dates.
Collecting dues
Distributing prizes
7.3 Other
If any other actions not outlined in the Bylaws negatively affect the league, it is the duty of league members to bring these actions to the League Office.
The League Office must first attempt to correct the situation with the affected parties. If the situation cannot be remedied internally, it will be brought to the league for discussion and voting.
